Tender for Hospital Waste Collection for $4 million

The Panamanian Social Security Department has created a tender for the collection and final disposal of solid hazardous hospital waste facilities in the metropolitan area.

The contract includes the procurement of collection services, transportation, treatment and final disposal of solid hazardous hospital waste (Pathological and Sharps) Health facilities in the metropolitan area. The tender includes supply of materials, labor and tools.

The approval meeting will be held on March 28th, 2012.

The deadline for submission of bids is 12th April 2012.

The target date for submitting proposals is February 9, 2011.

With the approval of the law which creates the Authority for Urban and Household Cleaning, the bidding process has started to contract waste collection.

The new Authority will take over duties of waste collection on January 1, 2011.

"The Institute for National Water and Sewerage continue charging the fee until the new authority requests gradual transfer of the customer base and approves new tariffs to users" reported Prensa.com.
