In Guatemala, the Municipality of Quetzaltenango tenders the supply of power and electric energy to cover the demand of the final distribution service of the social tariff and non-social tariff.

"Energy price: to be placed in the substations available in the municipalities. of: Quetzaltenango, La Esperanza and other points in the municipality; expressed in USD$/kWh and equivalent in Q/kWh at the exchange rate of the Banco de Guatemala (BANGUAT) on the day of the meeting of the presentation of the Offer in the Guatecompras portal.
Price of the Power: It will have to be put in the Substations available in the
municipalities of: Quetzaltenango, La Esperanza and other points of the municipality; expressed in USD$/Kw-month, and its equivalent in Q/kW-month at the exchange rate of the Banco de Guatemala. (BANGUAT) of the day of the presentation of the Offer in the portal Guatecompras.

Deadline for receipt of offers: November 6, 2019.

Guatemala: Electricity Rate Reduction Announced

August 2020

For the quarter from August to October 2020 EEGSA users will have a drop in their tariff of -1.75% compared to the price of the second quarter of the year.

According to the document issued by the National Commission of Electric Energy (CNEE), between the quarter of May to July this year and the quarter of August to October 2020, the non-social tariff of EEGSA went from 1.32 to 1.28 Q/kWh, which represents a 1.75% decrease.

"The requirement is for the total energy demand of the Social and Non-Social Tariff of La Distribuidora and the totality of the Significant Power to cover the Firm Demand assigned to the Distributor for each seasonal year for a minimum period of 24 months. 

El Salvador: Upcoming Tender for Electricity Works for $10 million

November 2014

The state power company has presented a major expansion and improvement plan for transmission towers and high voltage substations and intends to start the tender process in the first weeks of 2015.

The Transmission Company of El Salvador (Etesa) plans to implement this project within 5 to 10 years and will fund it by adding charges on electricity bills for consumers.
