The Ministry of Public Works is putting out to tender maintenance and recovery of green areas, infrastructure and a roadway on the coastal belt, in the district of Panama.

"Maintenance and recovery of green areas, infrastructure and roadway on the coastal belt, Stage I and II:
The project consists of a length of 4.6 kilometers, which starts in the road interconnection between Ave. Balboa and the new Ave. de Los Poetas, from the junction with Ave. Pablo Arosemena at the end of Ave. Balboa, passing through the Marine Viaduct until reaching the junction with the Ave. de los Mártires in La Connection with the Puente de las Américas in Barraza. It includes the land reclaimed from the sea that is parallel to the current Ave. de los Poetas, with its parking lots, elevated pedestrian crossings, bike path, green areas, fields and parks. It also includes the Mirador del Pacifico (Tourist Breakwater) with its parking lot, the elevated pedestrian passage of the Seafood Market and the elevated pedestrian crossings of Cinta Costera I and Ave. Balboa, located at the height of the Urracá Park; However, the Bidding Entity may detect tasks whilst carrying out work in the field, that have not been defined in the terms of reference and the plans, in order to ensure the connectivity and integrality of the road networks and or for accessibility to basic services."

The project consists of a length of 4.6 kilometers, which starts in the road interconnection between Ave. Balboa and the new Ave. de Los Poetas, from the junction with Ave. Pablo Arosemena at the end of Ave. Balboa, passing through the Marine Viaduct until reaching the junction with the Ave. de los Mártires in the connection with the Puente de las Américas in Barraza. Between $7.1 million and $9.4 million, is the range of bids submitted by three consortiums of construction companies in the tender for road maintenance of stage III of the coastal strip road and Mirador del Pacífico in Panama.
From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works:
The Ministry of Public Works is preparing to award a contract once again for the maintenance of the coastal strip, which was previously held by Odebrecht.
The Brazilian construction firm Odebrecht and the Ministry of Public Works have agreed to terminate the contract within five months.Prensa.com reports that"...
As part of the Master Plan of Road Reorganization in Panama City, construction has began on the interconnection between Avenida Balboa and the new Avenida Los Poetas.
A press release from the Ministry of Public Works of Panama (MOP) reads:
The Ministry of Public Works announces that as part of the Master Plan of Road Reorganization in Panama City, today sees the start of construction of the interconnection between Avenida Balboa and Avenida Los Poetas.
With an underground tunnel which would connect Avenida Balboa and Avenida de los Poetas the third phase of the coastal strip would be completed.
"In the project statement, published yesterday in Panama Compra, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) said that 'the studies resulted in solving the interconnection with an underpass and a tunnel which would go under the area of El Chorrillo," published Prensa.com.
