The Costa Rican Department of Social Security is putting out to tender a supply of prostheses and several complete systems.

Costa Rica Government Purchase 2016LN-000011-05101:
"Details of medical supplies and quantities required:
-Complete primary total uncemented hip replacement system (672 units required).
-Complete revision surgery system for total hip replacement (132 units required).
-Complete primary total uncemented hip replacement system (660 units required).
- Complete system to perform revision surgery for total knee replacement (48 units required).
-Complete system for total knee replacement with prosthetic hinge with or without rotating platform (24 units required).
- Prosthesis for cervical-cephalic partial hip (660 units required)
- Total knee prosthesis, primary with and without preservation of the posterior cruciate ligament (756 units required).
- Total shoulder prosthesis (48 units required).
- Spacing Cement (60 required units). "
The Costa Rican Social Security Fund tenders systems for rehabilitation of femur fractures and hip fractures.
Costa Rica Government Purchase 2018LN-000034-5101:
"Details of the contract lines:
-2,376 fixation systems for fractures of the proximal femur with intramedullary nail and verviocephalic tranfictive fixation of different sizes in diameters and lengths.
$18 million will be allocated to equip the seven-story tower, which will be built starting from April at the Calderon Guardia hospital, with 209 beds, 35 incubators and radiology, neonatology, gynecology, and an isolation unit.
The estimated cost of the project is $83 million, its construction will begin in mid-April and it will be completed within three years, according to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).
