Tender: Installation of Fire Hydrants for $8 million

The Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers is putting out to tender the supply and installation of hydrants for the Metropolitan and Chorotega regions.

Costa Rica Government Purchase 2017LN-000023-PRI:

"Requirements are for installation of steamer and multivalvular type hydrants, 100 and 150mm, in pipes ranging from 100 to 900mm, in the format of delivery according to demand. For this, the necessary branch extensions must be made in 100 and 150mm pipes to reach the places where they are required.

The hydrant must be of the type (multivalvular); with 3 independent valves, horizontal shank for each valve and mobile element for closing them, made of bronze.  With three exits or removable sockets (threaded to the body of the hydrant) manufactured in bronze for connection of the hoses used by Firemen. The measurements are: two taps of 64mm (2-1 / 2 ") male thread type NST and a 114mm (4-1 / 2") male thread type NST."

The deadline for receipt of bids is January 31, 2018.

In Panama, a tender is being launched to repair leaks, valves and hydrants in areas which are the responsibility of the Metropolitan Management.

Panama Government Purchase 2018-2-66-0-08-LP-013974:

"Within the improvements to the existing networks of aqueducts a program will be undertaken that we have named "service to repair leaks, change valves and hydrants in the Metropolitan Management, which consists of carrying out repair works to damaged pipes, valves and to replace hydrants.

Costa Rica: $27 million for Hydrants

February 2016

The funds raised from the increase in service fees for hydrants will be used to install new and repair existing ones over a period of five years.

From a statement issued by the Regulatory Authority for Public Services:

The Water Administration at ARESEP has approved an adjustment in rates for hydrant services for subscribers of AyA and rural aqueducts.

Panama: Invitations to Tender for $2 Million Water Mains

August 2010

Panama's Aqueduct and Sewers Institute (IDAAN) invites bids for the design and construction of a network of water pipes in La Chorrera.

IDAAN has published the bid documents for the contract, which includes the design and construction of a 4km pipeline in La Chorrera, just west of the Panamanian capital.
