Tender For Parking Lots in Panama

Two companies submitted bids for the construction of underground parking lots under three parks in Panama.

"The companies Estacionamientos Unidos S.A., and Plaza Parking S.A., submitted proposals for the construction of underground parking lots at the parks Harry Strunz, Parque Porras and Francisco Arias Paredes under turnkey contracts, while for the parking lot under Park Urracá no bids were received", noted an article in Capital.com.pa.

On 21 February, the Mayor of Panama opened the envelopes containing bids from the companies concerned, after the public event had remained open for 30 days.

The evaluation committee will have 10 days to make a decision on the proposals from the companies involved.

Construction of Parking Lots Underway

Construction is to start of the 1,100 underground parking spaces granted in concession and from which 10% of the income will go to the municipality of Panama City.

Prensa.com reports: "The contracts were awarded using the turnkey model to Antonella de La Valle, representative of the company Estacionamientos Unidos S.A and Ivan Bernal of the company Plaza Parking SA".

Plaza Parking S.A. y Estacionamientos Unidos S.A., who share directors, won the tender to build and operate underground parking lots in Panama City.

Plaza Parking, SA will be responsible for the construction of parking lots under the Harry Strunz park, at a cost of $5.4 million, while Estacionamientos Unidos, S.A., will build, at a cost of $13.3 million, under the parks Porras and Francisco Arias Paredes.
