Tender: Data Network Service

The National Commission of Banks and Insurance Companies in Honduras is putting out to tender a communication service for the Financial Interconnection Network.

Honduras Government Purchase LPN-CNBS-06-2017:

"The service provided by the Financial Interconnection Network (RIF) is a service dedicated to an IP data network between the CNBS and the supervised entities: Commercial Banks, State Banks, Second Floor Banks, Financial Companies, Government Retirement and Pension Institutions, Private Development Organizations and Financial and Insurance Institutions, located in the cities of Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, la Ceiba, Santa Rosa de Copan, Ocotepeque, Juticalpa, and the Bay Islands "

The provider must guarantee the non-interruption of the current communication service of the RIF, taking into account the overlap between the previous contract and the new contract to be executed.  The installation and start-up of the entire RIF must be 100% operational to provide the service starting from March 1, 2018 in all the links indicated in the List of Institutions in the Tender Conditions."

The deadline for receipt of bids is January 4, 2018.

An Internet Exchange Point for Central America

December 2014

Panama is proposing installing on its territory a regional IXP to reduce the cost of data transmission between Central American countries.

An IXP is a piece of infrastructure which enables internet traffic to move between networks and through this interface to connect directly, without using an intermediate network.
