Tender ITB-CRPC-90413-2016-002 convened by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS):

"The work consists of the sustainable construction of a bridge over the River Virilla on National Route No. 147 at the boundary between the provinces of San José and the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica."

The new bridge will have 3 lanes measuring 3.60 m and a 1.50 m sidewalk plus spaces for shoulders and barriers. The proposed shoulders are 2.2m and 0.5 m so that in the future (Phase 2)  3 lanes each 3.30 meters wide can be arranged on the bridge."

The deadline for receipt of bids is October 3, 2016.

In the final days of the Chinchilla administration, the usually slow Ministry of Public Works and the Conavi have accelerated the award of road projects.

The National Roads Authority (CONAVI) also awarded contracts for geometric designs, pavement designs and construction plans, as well as the proposed road signs and a budget for four sections of the National Route 1856, Juan Rafael Mora Porras, at a cost of $2.27 million (¢1.251 billion).
