Tender: 10 km Road Extension

The Ministry of Public Works in Panama is putting out to tender the study, design, construction and maintenance works for the expansion and renovation of the Panamerican highway in the section Bridge of the Americas - Arraiján.

Panama Government Purchase 2016-0-09-0-15-LV-004 337:

"The project has an approximate length of 10 kilometers, and the connection starts at the project for the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, in the area of ​​Cocolí, and ends at the Centennial route in the area Burunga with a new interchange road.

The works include expanding the Centenario road to 3 lanes between the new interchange and the connection to the old Panamericana highway, in order to adapt the final connection between the two highways, as well as the temporary connection of the new extended road with the existing Pan-American Highway in the area between Cocolí and the Bridge of the Americas, in order to cater for the eventuality of the Fourth Bridge project not being completed by the date of opening the road to traffic on this road."


The deadline for receipt of bids is August 17, 2016

Million-dollar Road Project Nears Completion

In Costa Rica, authorities announced that work to widen a 46-kilometer stretch connecting the bridge over the Virilla River to the Sucio River, valued at $643 million and to be paid for with tolls over 30 years, is close to being approved.

"Expansion of the Pan American Highway in the stretch between Santa Cruz -San Carlos, with an approximate length of 21k + 800, and also includes the variant Chame - Punta Barco with an approximate length of 13k + 600 with four (4) lanes, two (2) in each direction as well as the renovation of the existing via Chame Punta Barco (13k + 200) and the design and construction of returns to the flyover in the area of Coronado.

Panama: Panamericana Expansion to be Tendered

It has been announced that next week a tender will be published for the construction of two new lanes on the stretch of road between San Carlos and La Chorrera, west of the Panamanian capital.

The announcement was made by Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela, and will serve to improve capacity on a route that has a length of about 70 kilometers.

The Ministry of Public Works has announced that next week the requirements for the tender for the design and expansion to eight lanes of the Bridge of the Americas - Via Centenario -Arraiján will be published.
