Technical Rules for Exporting Food and Beverages

Training is being provided in Guatemala on Central American Technical Regulations for companies exporting food and beverages.

From a statement issued by the Guatemalan Exporters Association:

In order to expand knowledge and provide updates on general and nutritional labeling, and food additives for the processed foods and beverages industry, among other things; the Committee on Food and Beverages at AGEXPORT with support from the Department of Food Control Regulation of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, will be holding a training Workshop on Central American Technical Regulations (RTCA by its initials in Spanish).

The aim is to educated food and beverage companies about the RTCA, and is aimed at those responsible for quality control, production managers, new product design and advisers.

The food specialist Amabilia Alvarez, will be responsible for delivering this workshop on November 27, 2014 at the premises of AGEXPORT and participants will have the opportunity to clarify their doubts with evaluators from the Food Control Department at the Ministry of Health.

The industry presented a 5-year strategic plan, which aims to increase exports to $3 billion per year.

Innovation, food health, integration and searching for markets are the four pillars of this plan, developed by the food and beverage commission of Agexport, the Exporters Association of Guatemala.
