In order to further strengthen the commercial ties that unite Taiwan with Guatemala, the Asian nation will participate as an exhibitor at Induexpo 2011, where 26 companies who already have a presence in Central America will showcase their products and services.

Some of the Taiwanese companies participating in the event include manufacturers of machinery, automotive parts and accessories, electronics, hardware, medical goods and baby products.

Taiwan's ambassador in Guatemala, Adolfo Sun said in an article in Siglo21.com.gt that "the country can use Taiwan as a gateway to Asia. Sun recalled that in 2010 a framework agreement for economic cooperation with mainland China was signed, and ‘I would say we will buy more from Guatemala because the Taiwanese are the largest investors in the nation.’"
