The publication adds that "... each of the new stores operate with high sustainable standards that include LED lighting, sanitary fixtures that optimize water consumption, optimized ventilation systems and high efficiency refrigeration."

According to studies by CentralAmericaData, in this context of new commercial reality, Costa Rican consumers are among the most reluctant at a regional level to make purchases in physical supermarket establishments, since when compared to the data reported prior to the pandemic, in the first days of April 2021 in Costa Rica there was a 1% decrease in the number of people who visited this type of stores.
