Regarding the process of disputing the decision, the president of Coprocom, Rodolfo Cheves, explained to Nacion.com that "... the company has three days to file an appeal to revoke this judgment, and that if that happens, the Commission will issue a resolution by mid-January 2019. This would exhaust the administrative process."

On the other hand, Aquileo Sanchez, director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Walmart, said that "... Walmart of Mexico and Central America will analyze Coprocom's resolution to evaluate its next steps. We are confident that this transaction is positive for the country and convenient for the competitive environment. We remain committed to serving Costa Ricans with our low daily price proposal while generating employment and growth opportunities for our suppliers."

Regarding the purchase process, in July of this year, it was reported that Walmart had agreed to purchase the supermarket chains Perimercados, Súper Compro and the Saretto store, until now owned by Grupo Empresarial de Supermercados.
