Study to Modernize Airport Put Out to Tender Again
The National Competitiveness Program in Guatemala is once again tendering the feasibility study for the modernization of La Aurora International Airport.

After theaforementioned process was canceledby the National Competitiveness Program (Pronacom), on April 7 a request for proposals for a new competition was published on Guatecompras.
"Feasibility study for the evaluation and structuring of an initiative of the Partnership for Economic Infrastructure Development "Modernization, Efficiency and Safety at La Aurora International Airport."
In El Salvador, 30 companies were prequalified to participate in the international competition for the elaboration of the feasibility study for the construction of the Pacific Airport.
A total of 44 national and foreign companies expressed interest and also completed the information required to participate in the international public bidding, informed the Executive Autonomous Port Commission (CEPA).
Between $950,000 and $1.3 million are the offers put forward by four consortiums of consultants in the tender to carry out a feasibility study for modernization of the airport.
Companies from the United States, Colombia and Mexico that make up the consortiums that presented their proposals in the tender to carry out the feasibility study: "Modernization, Efficiency and Security of the International Airport of Aurora".
A tender for a feasibility study to modernize Guatemala City airport was annulled because of alleged non conformities, and will be convened anew.
The process was canceled by the National Competitiveness Program (Pronacom), and although no specific details are recorded on the Guatecompras website, a series of non conformity issues raised by some of the participating companies may be the reason for the decision to cancel.See details of thetender.
This study is for a Scientific and Technological R&D Center, known in Spanish as CIDECYT.
CIDECYT will engage in scientific and technological research for diverse applications, both practical and scientific, both for the Technical University of Panama as well as for the national and international scientific community. State institutions will work with this center in several development projects in the next years.
