Spanish Consortium to Build David Market

The consortium Cleop, S.A-Mejores Acabados S.A., has been awarded the construction and equipping of the new David public market in Panama.

This infrastructure, which forms an integral part of the Cadena de Frío (Cold Chain) project will allow butchers, vegetable vendors and hawkers to conduct their business safely and with allow more space for users to buy safely, and in hygienic conditions.

It will have a catchment area of 20 thousand inhabitants and will benefit about 200 retailers in the area. It will form part of the innovative project to build public markets being pushed by the government. The market will have ample parking, and public spaces used for the sale of fruits, vegetables, legumes, fresh meat and fish, as well as having services such as bakeries, candy stores, coffee shops, banking and pharmacies.

The David market will be the first of 8 to be built in other cities such as Panama, Penonomé, La Chorrera, Santiago, Columbus, Las Tablas and Chitre. These construction projects seek to lower high costs and improve the quality of agricultural products.

Concession for Public Market in Colon Awarded

Omega Engineering Inc. has been awarded the contract to build and equip the new site for the public market in the city of Colon.

The official reference price for the Colon market was $18 million and the Omega Consortium,offered $ 17,779 000.

Seven consortia have submitted bids for the construction and equipping of a market in Panama City, a project worth over $100 million.

The company's suppliers and their proposals are: Facilities and Services SACODEPO ($118, 900,000), SA Sacyr ($126,447,000), MCM Global ($124,999,000), Assignia-Cocige ($126,495,000), SA-Cleop Elecnor SA ($109,968,000), Omega Engineering ($126,500,000) and the Consortium Arranz kinase-Riva SA ($120,240,000).

Panama: Single Offer for Public Market

A single offer was received for construction and equipping of a public market in David, Chiriqui.

The only bid was submitted by CCE Infrastructure, with a total of $ 13.46 million. The reference amount was $ 9 million.
