Sixth Cup of Excellence in Honduras

The 37 lot auction is scheduled for tomorrow, with 700 bags of 150 pounds being offered at an initial price of $2.50 per pound.

Rony Gámez, head of the quality control lab at the Honduran Institute of Coffee (Ihcafé acronym in Spanish), said they are expecting to beat the price per pound they received during 2008.

In an interview with the La Tribuna website, Rony Gámez says, ”Currently, we are the country contributing the most lots for the electronic auctions for the cups of excellence in the region and South America, which indicates a better potential for the coffee.”
