Serving Meals is Good Business In Guatemala

The union of restaurants has reported that in 2015 22,000 new stores were opened, almost 7% more than in 2014, when 20,000 new establishments were recorded.

The growth registered in the construction of shopping centers has positively impacted gastronomic activities since it has generated more spaces where new stores can be opened.

Salvador Contreras, a member of the board of the Union of restaurants in Guatemala, attached to the Chamber of Industry, told Prensalibre.com that "... the sector was impacted positively by the payment of Bono 14 and by remittances, which are mostly used for consumption. "

"... Data from the union shows that the sector generated 113,191 jobs in 2014, which represented an increase of 9%. "

Biggest Expands to Guatemala

With the creation of 55 jobs, the new Biggest restaurant will open in mid-June in Barberena, Santa Rosa. The chain plans to open another restaurant in the second half of 2009 or three in 2010.

Chili's restaurant now in El Salvador
