Seminar on Customs Adjustments in Guatemala

On December 9th a workshop will be held to highlight the most common problems encountered with processes for imports with the office of the Tax Administration.

From a statement issued by the Guatemalan Exporters Association:

In order to raise awareness of the most common problems faced when carrying out process with the Tax Administration Office for imports, the School of Foreign Trade at AGEXPORT, will be holding on December 9, 2014, a workshop entitled "Defence Mechanisms against Adjustments Reported by Customs".

This activity is aimed at general managers, operations assistant, those responsible for importation, purchasing and people interested in starting imports.

Mr Elver Vasquez will be giving the workshop and will expand on the topics related to common problems in the import process, SAT Customs Trends, Resources for the clearance process, among other things.

Guatemala: The Future Export Environment

On November 13th in Guatemala City a conference will be given on the challenges faced by Guatemalan exports in maintaining their competitiveness in the global market.

Guatemala: Is the Agile Import Window Useful?

A month after having implemented it only 12% of importers have registered and less than 1% of users use it for their foreign trade operations.

To date only 4,700 users have registered their company details with the VAI electronic platform designed to handle the issue of non-tariff import permits.
