From a press release issued by the Authority for Consumer Protection and Competition in Panama (Acodeco):

Panama will host an upcoming regional forum which will include discussion of techniques to tackle corruption and collusion in procurement processes and hiring in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The topics to be discussed include: how to overcome potential conflicts between anti-corruption and anti-collusion strategies, measuring the cost and impact of illegal activities in public procurement processes, and making optimal use of the latest technologies and guidelines to detect and prevent fraud, corruption and collusion in public procurement processes.

Panama to host competition forums

Panama is preparing to host the Latin American and Ibero-American competition forums.

The forums, which are to be coordinated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), are to be held from September 10 through 12, said Pedro Meilán, who heads Panama's watchdog on competition and consumer affairs.
