A statement issued by the National Animal Health Service (SENASA) said that   "...The inspection was requested by the Institute for Protection and Agricultural Health of the Republic of Nicaragua, in light of interest from the company in selling its products to the Costa Rican market. Last May SENASA undertook a comprehensive review of all points in the production process that are relevant to ensuring the sanitary quality of the final product, including the system of epidemiological surveillance and disease control; the official safety system for monitoring and control processors and collection facilities.
