Salvadoran coffee exports increase 10.9%

During the first quarter of the 2008-2009 coffee year, export grew 10.9% in value and 2.2% in volume, compared to the same period in the previous cycle.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 reports on its website "Earnings for the same period also increased 10.9%, from 20,540,546 dollars to 22,769,117 dollars, said CSC. During the three months that have passed in the current period, Germany has been the main buyer of Salvadoran coffee with 30.5% of the exports, followed by the United States at 23.8% and Japan at 12.9%."

El Salvador: Coffee Exports Rose 88% In June

Exports totaled 170,060 quintals, 88% more than the 90,659 quintals in the same period in 2010.

According to the Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC) in the same month revenues totaled $38.9 million, the average price per quintal exported was $229.

An article in's reports: "The cumulative export volume for the year 2010/2011, that is October 2010 to June 2011, reported a total of 1,920,925 quintals, an increase of 60.2% compared to exports during the same period the previous cycle which was 1,199,229 quintals.

$1,000 million in Guatemalan Coffee

Coffee sales abroad in the years 2011-2012 are estimated to increase by 17%.

A 17% increase in export of the harvest which begins in August and ends in October 2012, is expected by the National Coffee Association (Anacafe).

If these estimates are met it would mean that for the first time Guatemala will export the equivalent of $1,000 million worth in bags of coffee, a figure which could be achieved partly thanks to high grain prices that currently prevail internationally.

Salvadoran Coffee Exports Up 52%

During February Salvadoran coffee farmers exported 19% more product and 52.1% received more money than the same month of 2010.

According to information from the Salvadoran Coffee Council, 300.203 quintals were exported, generating revenues of $ 55 million. The average sales price was $ 183.22 per quintal.

Salvadoran Coffee Exports Soar

February 2011

Foreign sales for the month of January 2011 increased by 44.1% over the same period of 2010.

According to the Salvadoran Coffee Council, January amounted to 273.587 exported quintals, compared to the 189.823 quintals on January 2010.

"Germany bought 38.1% of the Salvadoran aromatic type exports for January, followed by the United States with 30.3%, Japan with 8.6% and Canada 7.5%.
