Salvadoran Bottler to Invest $ 45 million

Industrias La Constancia will invest $ 45 million over the next three years.

At a press conference, company executives announced the recapitalization, explaining that it will be used to expand operations in El Salvador.

Attending the event was president of El Salvador Mauricio Funes, who praised the company, stressing that "the best social policy the government can implement is providing jobs, but it’s not the government which produces them, it’s the businessmen.”

Industrias La Constancia is a subsidiary of SABMiller.

Besides selling the beer brands Suprema and Regia Extra, the group Industrias La Constancia is preparing to also sell this year the business of distributing Coca Cola brand drinks.

The beverage company Industrias La Constancia has temporarily suspended operations for its brand Agua Cristal because of insecurity in the country.

From a statement issued by Industrias La Constancia:

We wish to announce publicly that, due to escalating insecurity affecting communities around the "La Tiendona" Market and in order to ensure the physical integrity of our employees and contractors, we have been forced to temporarily suspend operations for Agua Cristal.

El Salvador: ILC stands out in SABMiller efficiency ranking.

La Constancia Industries (ILC) came in second for technical aspects in the preparation of beverages in the world ranking by British SABMiller.

This plant, located western edge of the capital, did well in the ranking for efficiency in energy and water consumption, waste generation and the use of infrastructure in general.

Pilsener renews its image in El Salvador

Pilsener beer has again revamped its image, and both its returnable bottles and cans will have a fresher and more modern label.

"This is a complete makeover because the consumers demand that we maintain a modern brand," said Nina Muyshondt, manager of Grupo Cerveza de Industrias La Constancia (ILC).
