Riu Hotels to Open New Hotel in Panama

On November 2010, Riu Hotels and Resorts will inaugurate a 5-star, $125 million hotel: Riu Panama Plaza.

The hotel is located in the financial and banking district of Panama City, its owner chain betting on pleasure as well as business tourism.

This is an exciting moment for the firm, as well as one of the most important challenges in RIU’s history", said Luis Riu, CEO of Riu Hotels and Resorts.

Inauguration of the 35-story hotel is scheduled for November 1, 2010.

“Lincoln García, president of Interoceanic Hotels, explained that they aim for upper middle class customers. 'Panama currently has either luxury or cheap hotels. We want to add a new option for middle class tourists'”.
