Report on Construction Projects - January 2015

A bus terminal, a wastewater treatment plant and several residential developments top the list of environmental impact studies presented in January in Costa Rica.

The ​Business Intelligence unit at CentralAmericaData.COM has released its latest report on the construction sector: "Construction Projects in Costa Rica - January 2015", which includes a list of major construction projects which in January submitted environmental impact studies to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat.

In the residential development sector twelve projects stand out, six of which are to be developed in San Jose, two in Cartago, two in Guanacaste, one in Alajuela and one in Heredia. In total, the estimated amount of investment for these twelve projects is $30 million.

In the infrastructure and construction sector two projects stand out, one to be developed in Alajuela and another one in Guanacaste. The project planned in Alajuela involves the construction of a bus terminal, and the EIA was submitted by the company Corporación de Transportes Calita S.A., which estimates the work at $4.4 million.

Other projects for which environmental impact studies were presented in January correspond to the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors.
