Report on Construction Projects - March 2015

A logistics distribution center, a building for government offices, a school, a hotel expansion, and electrical infrastructure are some of the projects which submitted environmental impact studies in March in Costa Rica.

The report "Construction Projects in Costa Rica - March 2015", prepared by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData.com, provides a list of major construction projects which in March submitted environmental impact studies (EIS) to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat (SETENA).

One of the projects for which an EIA was submitted involves the construction of a logistics center for the company Mayca Distributors SA. The study presented by Mayca indicates that the logistics center will be built in La Garita, Alajuela province, and has a estimated value of $20.8 million.

Universidad Nacional presented an EIA for the project "Building New Industrial Processes", which involves the construction of a building to complement its educational infrastructure. The EIA reported that the estimated value of this work, to be carried out in the province of Heredia, is $7.9 million.

In the area of public infrastructure, the Supreme Court of the Judiciary presented an EIA for the construction of the project "Construction and operation of building of the third tower for the Courts of Limon" in the province of Limon. In the document submitted to Setena it states that the estimated value of the project is $5.2 million.

Other EIA's presented were for the construction of a power distribution line in Carrillo, Guanacaste, a cemetery and several residential condominium projects in the province of San José.
