Remittances increased 12% in the 1st Semester

During the first six months of 2019, family remittances sent to Guatemala totaled $4.927 million, 12% more than the same period last year, growth that is higher than the 9% reported from January to June 2018.

The latest figures from the Bank of Guatemala detail that in June 2019 the country received remittances of $882 million, amount that is 10% higher than the $801 million registered in the same month of 2018.

Between the first six months of 2013 and the same period in 2019, remittance income practically doubled, from $2.478 million in 2013 to $4.927 million in 2019.

The 12% increase recorded from January to June of this year with respect to the same period of 2018, represents an acceleration in the growth of the flow of remittances, since for the first six months of 2018 a growth of 9% was reported.

Income for the sixth month of this year totaled $882 million, amount that exceeded the average value of remittances received during the months of June of the last five years, since the flow reaches an average of $631 million.

During the first four months of 2019, family remittances totaled $3.070 million, 10% more than the same period last year, growth that is higher than the 8% reported from January to April 2018.

The latest figures from the Bank of Guatemala show that in April 2019 the country received $865 million in remittances, 12% more than the $770 million recorded in the same month in 2018.

In the first ten months of the year, income from family remittances totaled $7.687 million, 13% higher than reported in the same period in 2017.

The latest data from the Bank of Guatemala show that in October 2018 the country received $864 million in remittances, 19% more than the $728 million registered in the same month in 2017.

During the first nine months of the year, income from family remittances reached $6,824 million, 12% higher than the amount reported for the same period in 2017.

The most recent figures from the Bank of Guatemala show that in September 2018 the country received remittances of $746 million, which is 11% higher than the $672 million reported for the same month in 2017.

In the first six months of 2018, remittances totaled $4.399 billion, 9% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

The latest figures from the Banco de Guatemala show that in June 2018 the country received $801 million in the form of remittances, an amount that exceeds by 11% the $724 million registered in the same month in 2017.
