Remittances in Guatemala Up 8%

From January to May 2018, remittances totaled $3.598 billion, 8% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

n dir="ltr">According to the most recent figures from the Banco de Guatemala, in May 2018 the country received $809 million in remittances, an amount that exceeds by 8.2% the $640 million registered in the same month in 2017. 

Between the first five months of the years 2011 and 2018 the registered remittance revenues practically doubled, as the figures went up from $1.798 billion in 2011 to $3.598 billion in 2018. 

The income for the fifth month of this year totaled $809 million, an amount that exceeded the average value of remittances received during the months ofMay in the last five years, since the flow reached an average of $639 million.

In the first six months of 2018, remittances totaled $4.399 billion, 9% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

The latest figures from the Banco de Guatemala show that in June 2018 the country received $801 million in the form of remittances, an amount that exceeds by 11% the $724 million registered in the same month in 2017. 

Remittances in Guatemala: Up 8% up to April 2018

During the first four months of 2018, remittances totaled $2,789 million, 8% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

According to figures from the Banco de Guatemala, in April 2018 the country received $770 million in remittances, an amount that is 20% more than the $640 million registered in the same month in 2017. 

Guatemala: Remittances Up 4%

April 2018

During the first quarter of 2018, remittances sent from abroad to Guatemala totaled $2.019 billion, 4% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

According to figures from the Banco de Guatemala, in March 2018 the country received $754 million in remittances, an amount that exceeds by 2% the $740 million registered in the same month in 2017. 

Guatemala: Remittances Up 14% in 2017

January 2018

Last year, remittances from abroad exceeded $8 billion, 14% more than the total received in 2016.

According to figures from Banco de Guatemala, in 2017 the country received $8.192 billion in remittances, an amount that exceeds by 14% the $7.159 billion registered in 2016. Last year the average monthly income from remittances was $683 million, surpassing the average monthly flow in 2016 which was $597 million.
