Regional Tourism Congress in Nicaragua

From May 31 to June 1 representatives from chambers of tourism in Central America will be gathering together in León to share experiences and explore business opportunities.

Jose Benito Rodriguez, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services in Leon told that the First Central American Congress of Chambers of Commerce and Tourism will be attended by representatives of chambers of tourism in Costa Rica , El Salvador and Guatemala, "... plus delegates from two Chambers of Commerce in Honduras, including the Chamber of Commerce of Choluteca."

"... Representing Nicaragua, three delegates will be attending from seven Chambers of Commerce, from the Pacific fringe, and the three organizational expressions of national tourism: CANIMET, Cantur and Canatur "

The event will take place at the Hotel El Convento from 9 am on May 31.

Nicaragua: $56 million in Tourism Exemptions

Up until May incentives have been authorized for 22 tourism investment projects, including the construction of the airport in Costa Esmeralda, for $12 million.

Tourism growth and incentives granted to investment projects in the tourism sector are boosting investment in the country, which, according to estimates by the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism, will amount to $400 million in the year.

First Regional Meeting of Business Chambers

August 2010

The event will be held on 25 and 26 August in Guatemala and is supported by the German BFZ foundation.

The regional coordinator, Alberto Zeni, commented that during the meeting, the "Consolidate" project results will be announced by business chambers from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.
