ARESEP proposes rates to promote solar generation

The Regulatory Authority for Public Services (ARESEP) has proposed a price band for new companies that produce electricity on a large scale using solar power (photovoltaic), up to 20 MW.

The Municipality of Energy at ARESEP proposes a minimum rate (floor) of $0.0751 kWh and maximum (ceiling) of $0.1794 per kWh; in order to encourage this type of energy which takes advantage of renewable sources.

"

Limit Extended for Solar Generation in Panama

March 2012

The Authority of Public Services will expand the limit of generation allowed by solar panels from 10 to 500 kwh.

The National Authority for Public Services (ASEP) will raise the capacity of solar panels in service from 10 kWh to 500 kWh, a move that will boost the use of this renewable energy source.
