Rainforest Alliance Awards Costa Rican Hotels

The Green Hotels Group in Costa Rica received the "Corporate Sustainable Trend Setters Award" award handed out by the Rainforest Alliance.

Green Hotels of Costa Rica is a group that is comprised of: "Si Como No Resort - Spa & Wildlife Refuge," "Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel & Nature Reserve" and "Aguila de Osa Inn," which received the “Corporate Sustainable Trend Setters Award," handed out annually by the Rainforest Alliance.

According to the Elfinancierocr.com website, "The award was presented to the president of Green Hotels of Costa Rica, Jim Damal, as recognition to the group of hotels 'for their continued dedication, innovation and leadership in environmental conservation.’ Winners from previous years include His Excellency the Prince of Wales, Walter Cronkite, Ted Turner, Kraft Foods, Chiquita Brands, FedExKinko's, HSBC and Nature Air Costa Rica."

Rainforest Alliance awards Costa Rica's NatureAir

The New York-based Rainforest Alliance awarded Costa Rica airline NatureAir for its efforts to conserve the environment.

NatureAir is the first airline in the world to compensate its carbon emissions totally. With the money it earns from selling carbon credits, it helps conservation of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula.
