Supermarkets: New Sales Point in Panama

After investing $17.5 million, PriceSmart opened a new branch in the nation's capital, located in the Metro Park shopping complex.

The new supermarket is located on a 17,368 square meter lot, and has a construction area of 7,295 square meters, of which 4,577 are dedicated to the sales floor.

One of the novelties that this new sales point will offer is that members will be able to buy any product they wish online in the U.S. through, and pick them up at the Metro Park store.

The article adds that "... This year, the chain also opened a branch in Santiago, in the province of Veraguas, and with the construction of this seventh branch in the eastern area of the capital city, PriceSmart has invested more than 29 million dollars in the last year."

PriceSmart Invests $14 Million in Panama

The supermarket chain opened a new store in “Brisas del Golf”, Brisas, on Tocumen road.

PriceSmart has now invested a total of $40 million in the country, where it has 70.000 subscribers.

José Luis Laparte, regional manager, expects the new store to sell 15% more than the one located at Los Pueblos mall, even though it is located close to two rival supermarkets.
