Quintessentially, the world’s leading private members’ club and concierge service, is set to launch in Panama City, Panama this week

This end of summer celebration will be the first in a series of events inspired by luxury living around the world. The launch will be celebrated with a “White Linen Extravaganza” – an outdoor event which will be marked as the first time world known luxury brands will come together to create a night of opulence and sophistication in the midst of Panama’s, historic old city.
The event will take place at “Paseo las Bovedas” - a waterfront promenade overlooking the new city, located in Casco Antiguo, the oldest European settlement on the entire Pacific Coast of the Americas.

New SONY Store in Panama

Sony Style will open its second store in Panama City by the end of the month.

The store is located in Metro shopping mall, and has 300 square meters of exhibition space.

"The stores features a 'Guru Bar'. This center, located inside the store, offers assistance for using or installing Sony equipment", reported Pa-digital.com.pa.

Panama to open a maritime business center

July 2008

Panama will officially open the region's first Maritime Business Center (MBC) the first week of September.

Ten companies with ocean-going business will have offices in the MBC. One of these will be an as yet unnamed shipping company.
The MBC will have a meeting room, two conference rooms, an entertainment room, a maritime library, videoconference facilities, and a "Parisian style" café.

Panama's banks celebrate strong first quarter

Panama's banking system is growing rapidly with major increases recorded in credits, deposits and assets.

The system closed the first quarter with total net profits of US$300 million, a 29.1 percent year-on-year increase, a private sector credit portfolio that was 18 percent up at US$20 billion and a 17.8 percent rise in domestic savings.

Julio Iglesias snaps up Honduran hideaway

Veteran Spanish pop star Julio Iglesias has bought a home on the island of Roatán, off the Caribbean coast of Honduras, the nation's leading tourist destination.

Under the headline "Fantasy Island", local daily El Heraldo reported that the Spanish heart-throb's new residence is in the Parrot Tree development, a luxury walled complex that ensures total privacy. Actress and model Cameron Díaz will be a neighbor, the paper said.
