Puerto La Union: White Elephant Sits Waiting

According to the Executive Port Commission (CEPA), resolutions have been given to 63 queries put forward by four companies which have pre-qualified to participate in the tender, and because of this there will be no further changes to the date for receiving bids. Nelson Vanegas, president of CEPA, told Elmundo.com.sv that "... "We are in the process of the international tender. Today (Friday) the period for resolving queries ends. The date of submission of bids is May 28 '. He explained that, after the proposals have been submitted and passed the evaluation and award process, there is a deadline to confirm the offers and if there are no objections, they are passed to the Legislature to sign the contract with the winning company. "

"... The four companies pre-qualified to participate in the tender for the marine terminal are Saam Puertos SA, Chile; the Spanish Grup Maritim TCB, SL; Bolloré Ports and Logistics, France, and International Container Terminal Services INC., Philippines. "
