Progress in Project for Fourth Bridge Over Canal

The government has announced that over the next six months it will start the tender process for the design and construction of the bridge connecting the northern corridor.

From a statement issued by the Government of Panama:

The Government of the Republic of Panama will be starting, in six months time, the tender process to build the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal, stated the President, Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez.

Varela Rodríguez explained that four financial options for covering the costs of the work have been submitted by the Ministry of Finance for analysis.

After three technical meetings, the Panamanian president said that the fourth bridge will be built on the north side of the Bridge of the Americas and will connect with the Northern Corridor, connecting commuters from the western areas to the capital city.

Panama: Japanese Financing for Metro Line 3

The government is negotiating with Mitsubishi Corporation alternatives for financing the construction of line 3 and the fourth bridge over the Canal, whose tender will be held in 2015.
