Production of Alcoholic Beverages up to May 2018

In the first five months of 2018, production of alcoholic beverages in Panama amounted to 128.7 million liters, 0.4% less than was registered in the same period in 2017.

According to the most recent figures from the Comptroller General of the Republic, production of alcoholic beverages in general remained almost unchanged, decreasing from 129.2 million liters in the first five months in 2017, to 128.7 million liters in the same period in 2018.

From January to May 2018, Gin was the spirit that recorded the largest increase in its production compared to the same period in 2017, rising from 781,000 liters to one million liters, equivalent to growth of 30%. 

For the periods in question, beer production decreased by 1%, falling from 124.3 million liters in 2017 to 123.7 million liters in 2018.

The latest data published by the General Comptroller of the Republic, detail that the production of alcoholic beverages generally reported a decline, reducing from 49.7 million liters from January to February 2018, to 48 million liters in the same period of 2019.

In the first six months of 2018, the production alcoholic beverages in Panama amounted to 150.4 million liters, 4% less than in the same period in 2017.

According to the latest data from the General Comptroller of the Republic, production of alcoholic beverages in general reported a decline, falling from 156.7 million liters in the first half of 2017, to 150.4 million liters in the same period in 2018.
