Procter & Gamble Increases Investment in Costa Rica

The mass consumer products company in Costa Rica will open a site for a Regional Planning Center for its Latin American Supply Chain.

A press release from CINDE Costa Rica reads:

Procter & Gamble (P & G), the world's largest mass consumer products company, has opened in Costa Rica its Regional Planning Centre for the Latin American Supply Chain. This new Centre will be responsible for leading the planning process for each plant and supplying markets in the region. In this way, Costa Rica has become the headquarters for Latin American experts in managing the supply chain for P & G. This expansion represents an additional investment of approximately $5 million.

"Costa Rica is now the undisputed leader in the services sector, whose exports in 2012, according to estimates made using data from the Central Bank, reached the sum of $5.577 billion. This recent decision by P & G to continue growing and diversifying its operations in the country is the result of a comprehensive and competitive process in which the company evaluated various destinations and a saw a clear indication of the strengths of Costa Rica in this field. Being selected as the seat of intelligence for the supply chain of this giant consumer demonstrates ability, outstanding performance and the great potential that Costa Rica has", said Anabel Gonzalez, Minister of Foreign Trade.
