The Consortium MOS, made up of the Swiss company Rodio Swissborring and the Venezuelan Trevi Cimentaciones, the Italian Astaldi S.P.A., China's Sinohydro Corporation Limited and the Mexican Tecnosuelo S.A. de C.V. , submitted bids in the private tender conducted by Empresa Nacional de Energía Eléctrica (ENEE) for repairing cracks in the El Cajon hydroelectric station.

The previous two tenders were declared unsuccessful because of an overvaluation of bids and because companies did not establish their expertise in this type of work. However, this time amendments have been made and credentials certified through a legal document stating that they are trained to perform the repairs.

The reception of bids was scheduled for next week, but the ENEE brought forward the date for bidders to submit their proposals. Although no explanation was given it is presumed that this was because there is a lot of interest in holding the tender before the end of the current government, because if it is left to the next administration the process could be lengthened.
