Preparations for Road Works in Guatemala

Preparations are being made for the renovation and expansion of 41 kilometers of the route between the department of Santa Rosa and Jutiapa, estimated at $45 million.

The General Department of Roads at the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing has presented the Environmental Impact Study for the renovation and extension of 41 kilometers of route CA-8 between Oratorio and Valle Nuevo, near the border with El Salvador.

In the study, which was submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources on July 4, it is estimated that the approximate cost of the project is $45 million.

It is estimated that once the project is approved, the General Department of Roads will proceed with the preparation of the tender to assign the execution of the work.

Guatemala: Minister Announces Roadworks

Consideration is being given to granting a concession for the stretch of 15 kilometers of the route from Libramiento to Chimaltenango, which would operate using tolls.

The Government is considering granting a concession to develop this stretch of the road and the company that wins the contract would manage the tolls. The 2017 road renovation plan submitted by the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing includes tendering the construction of several sections of road, for which $221 million is available.

Panama: Tender for Roadworks in Chiriquí

From a statement issued by the Presidency of Panama:

The Cabinet today announced the renovation of 130 kilometers of road in the districts of Renacimiento and Bugaba, Chiriqui province, as part of a development plan between local authorities and the Government.

Honduras: Preparation for $7.5 million Roadworks

August 2014

An environmental impact study has been presented for the construction and paving of 24 kilometers of road from the San Francisco de La Paz and Gualaco, Department of Olancho.

The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing has presented the EIS for construction and paving of 24 kilometers of road from the bridge of San Francisco to La Paz Municipality of Gualaco, Department of Olancho.

Guatemala: $74 million Roadworks Project

July 2014

An environmental impact study has been presented for a road improvement project of 40.7 kilometers of the highway leading to Puerto Quetzal, with an estimated cost of $74 million.

The General Department of Roads, Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing has presented an EIS to improve 40.7 miles of the CA-9 South road between Escuintla and Puerto Quetzal.
