From May 19th - 22nd representatives of the port industry in the region will meet in Nicaragua.

Representatives of the port industry in the region will meet in Nicaragua from 19 to 22 May at the XXXVI Port Meeting of Central America.

During the event, there will be an exchange of ideas and experiences on matters relating to ports.

In addition, "the advances of technology on ports, organizational and legislative improvements, modernization, innovation, compliance with international standards, and the environment" will be analyzed.

From July 25 to 28 representatives from the port industry in the region will be meeting in Belize at the XXXIX Port Meeting of the Central American Isthmus.

At the event, to be held at the Best Westerm Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Belize, the main discussion panels will address current issues such as the Cruise Industry, Mobility and Logistics Policy in Central America, Strengthening Environmental Port Management in Central America, Multilateral Agreement And Safety, Port Security and Protection,  Gross Verified Mass (GVM), Climate Change and the Role of Women in the Port Industry, among others.

From June 16th to 19th representatives from the region's port industry will be meeting in Panama at the XXXVII Port Meeting of the Central American Isthmus.

Representatives from the Central American Commission on Maritime Transport (COCATRAM) will be meeting in Panama from the 16th to 19th of June to participate in the XXXVII Port Meeting of the Central American Isthmus (REPICA).

From yesterday until Friday, port representatives from the isthmus will be gathered, assessing the progress in port modernization.

In the beginning of the meeting Rolando Diaz, manager of concessions for the Autonomous Port Executive Committee of El Salvador, referred to the completion of la Unión Centroamericana Port in December 2008, with an investment of $183 million.
