Pizza Chains Expand in Costa Rica

Pizza Hut, Pan e Vino, Papa John's and La Fabbrica opened eleven new restaurants this year.

With a $ 2.4 million investment, Pizza Hut will open six new stores and remodel another three. It also plans to open three coffee shops in their restaurants.

La Fabbrica will open its sixth outlet, located in Sabana Oeste during April. General manager, Alvaro Sauma, explained that the company will invest $ 250.000 on this new opening. The executive indicated that La Fabbrica plans to open another restaurant in Curridabat this year, but did not reveal a location," reported La Nacion on its website.

Papa John's plans include opening three new restaurants and remodeling of older restaurants.

The restaurant chain plans to open 5 new locations in 2010.

One will be located on road “24 de Diciembre” and “La Chorrera”. They also plan to invest in a restaurant in Chiriquí.

Leopoldo Liakópulos, one of the owners of Niko’s Café and member of the Restaurant Association of Panama, explained that they will invest approximately $6 million.
