Pharmaceutical Company Sets Up Financial Services Center
The company AstraZeneca has announced the start-up of a financial services center in Costa Rica, from where it will provide support to the company's operations in Latin America.

A statement issued by the CINDE states that the service center will be named Integrated Finance Solutions (IFS) Americas Center, and will be located in Escazú, where the pharmaceutical company already has its regional offices for Central America, Caribbean Ecuador and Peru.

San José, September 12, 2017.The service sector continues to show signs of strength with a new and important player: on September 12 the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca launched the operation of a new service center in the country.
According to Agustín Lamas, Area President of AstraZeneca for Central America, Caribbean Ecuador and Peru, among the main reasons that motivated the company to choose Costa Rica was its political stability and legal security, as well as the quality of human talent it possesses.
Antonio Padilla, Director of the IFS, said: "The investment demonstrates the confidence that AstraZeneca has placed in the country and the capacity of Costa Ricans to achieve greater growth of the company, not only locally but also throughout all of America".

Merck Sharp and Dohme has started operating a new financial services center in Costa Rica, from where it will provide support to the company's operations in the Americas.

The Swiss-based pharmaceutical company Lonza will be opening a shared services center in San José, from where it will provide accounting and finance services to the company's operations in America.

In 2016 the Latin American forum that brings together over 500 companies from the service industry will be held in San Jose.
