"Pasteleria Holandesa" Expands in the Region

The company with a presence in Guatemala and El Salvador will enter Honduras and Mexico on the first half of 2011.

Expansion plans include opening three new outlets in the border city of Tapachula, Mexico and the same number in Honduras.

The company executive told Elperiodico.com.gt, "... the new openings will be followed by franchised units, but only after we get to know the new markets better."

The company currently has 135 outlets in Guatemala and 5 in El Salvador.

A press release from the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia reads:

In a ceremonial event held in Bogota, Procafecol S.A. and the company 'JV Panama S.A'., signed an agreement granting the first international franchise for Juan Valdez ® coffee, giving free rein to develop the brand in Panama and Aruba.

Mexican Doughnut Franchise Will Come to Central America

As a first step, the Mexican business is registering the brand in order to be used later. Beleki already has letters of intents signed by investors in Guatemala and Panama.
