Panama's coffee exports perk up by 21.6 percent

Panama's coffee exports grew by 21.6 percent year-on-year in the first five months of 2008, the Comptroller-General's Office reported.

Honduran Coffee Exports Increase by 51%

Honduras and Mexico, were the only two Latin American countries reporting increases exceeding 50% in the first quarter of the current crop.

The combined exports of the nine Latin American countries (except Brazil): Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and the Dominican Republic) totaled 5,407,017 bags of 60 kilos, between October and December last year, according data from the National Coffee Association of Guatemala (Anacafe).

Revenues from coffee exports increased by 366% in August 2011 compared to the same period in 2010.

Between October 2010 and August 2011 revenue from foreign sales of coffee increased by 129.6%, with total exports of $435.09 million compared to $189.48 million in the same period of last year’s crop, 2009-2010.

El Salvador registers 19.4 percent growth in exports

El Salvador earned US$1.9 billion in exports January through May, a 19.4 percent increase on the same period of last year, reported the central bank, BCR.

Traditional exports contributed 11.5 percent of the total and grew at 36.6 percent year-on-year, largely thanks to increases in sales of coffee and sugar.

Panama's exports stage an April recovery

Panama's goods exports staged a recovery in April, according to official figures.

Goods exports earned Panama US$545.3 million in April, 8.4 percent more than in the same month of last year, and they increased by 6 percent year-on-year in terms of weight.
