Panama to Host Regional Forum on MSMEs

On December 14 in Panama City the regional forum under the theme "Entrepreneurship, Employment and Local Development" will take place.

The event will bring together representatives from countries in Central America and the Caribbean, and is sponsored by the Regional Centre for the Promotion of Micro and Small Enterprises in Central America.

The forum will take place in the hotel Marriott, banking area, Panama City, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Prensa Latina reports on its website, "This free forum will discuss methods and instruments for rapid employment generation and disseminate strategies for the promotion and development of MSMEs in order to combat poverty and extreme poverty in the regions of Central America and the Caribbean. "

Small Hotels Forum in Panama

From June 10 – 14, the VII Central American Small Hotel Forum will be held in Panama, bringing together more than 150 hoteliers.

The goal is to propose strategies to strengthen tourism integration in Central America so that it will become a single destination. The Association of Small Panamanian Hotels (HOPP), in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) and the active participation of the Central American Federation of Small Hotels (FECAPH), organized the forum.

Trade and Investment Meeting in El Salvador

On April 23 and 24, El Salvador will host the Second Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Trade and Investment.

Among the topics to be discussed at the meeting organized by the Salvadoran Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (PROESA and EXPORTA) are: the impacts of the global crisis on developing countries and the measures that have been taken to mitigate it; an analysis of the Latin American and Caribbean competitive situation in infrastructure and trade services and the situation of the tourism sector, including its current challenges and opportunities.

Nicaragua to Host Regional Forum on Renewable Energy

March 2009

The XIII Regional Forum on "Renewable Energy in Isolated Rural Areas in Central America" will be from March 18 – 20 in Managua.

The event is co-sponsored by Finland, Austria and the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Nicaragua, among others.

The meeting will be attended by Austrian and Finnish companies to present products and technologies they have applied in the field of renewable energy sources.
