Between 7th and 10th November, representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and private sector companies will be in London, where the activity will be attended by the participants from various countries.
Panamanian operators aim to take advantage of this event to contact wholesalers involved in charter flights from England and Finland.
In an article in Prensa.com, Pierre Cruz, international sales manager of the hotel El Panama, said that "there will be good opportunities to promote ‘Panama’ as a destination to the major European operators who frequently attend the event."
63% of wholesalers who were participants at the tourism fair held in Costa Rica were there for the first time, and 79% received at least 5 contracts during the event.
A statement from the Costa Rican Association of Tourism Professionals (ACOPROT):
3.762 business meetings between wholesalers and businessmen in the region took place.
The event featured participation of 158 wholesalers and tour operators from 41 countries, 155 exhibitors from the region and 91 international media.
Laprensagrafica.com published, "This year, seven out of 10 participants attended the fair for the first time, this will open the doors to new business contacts, said Roberto Robles, director of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT). Next year's fair will take place in Panama."
Guatemala is to host the seventh regional CATM tourism show.
The event will take place on 18, 19 and 20 October in Antigua Guatemala.
Central America Travel Market (CATM) brings together technical experts and professionals from the Central American tourism industry and gives people the opportunity to build commercial relationships between suppliers and wholesalers in international markets such as Europe, Asia and South America.
The country will participate in World Travel Market and the Latin American International Tourism Fair (FIT).
World Travel Market will be held in London, England, from November 9 to 12, whilst FIT will take place from November 14 to 17 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
"Pablo Solano, head of the Costa Rica Hotel Chamber (CCH), commented that the country's constant presence in such important markets definitively enhances Costa Rica's appeal as a tourism destination", reported local newspaper La Prensa Libre.
