Panama hotel supply still not enough

Despite an increase of 3.4% in 2008, hotels were unable to meet the demand for tourist accommodations.

According to sigloxxi.com, "For the sub-administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority, Carl Fredrik Nordstrom, supply increased, but "it is never enough," bearing in mind the increase in tourists that are visiting the country.

The Department of Development and Investment of the Tourism Authority reported that 25 new hotels opened with an investment of $25.5 million, providing 561 rooms and 935 beds, in addition to generating 309 jobs."

Nicaragua: Hotel Business Continues to Grow

The continuous increase in the flow of tourists coming to the country explains some of the 10% growth seen in the hotels and restaurants sector up to June.

This growth in hotel activity is based on an increase in tourist arrivals, which in 2015 grew nearly by 5% compared to the previous year. Figures from the Monthly Index of Economic Activity by the Central Bank show that in the first half of the year the activity grew by 6.5% compared to the same period in 2015.

Nicaragua: More Hotels in Granada

Costa Rica Hotel offer joint packages

Six hotel firms decided to join up and lower prices in order to prevent the financial crisis in the US to reduce their occupancy.

The Punta Islita, Lapa Ríos, Harmony, Arenas del Mar, El Silencio Lodge y Finca Rosa Blanca Hotels created joint packages to attract more tourists.
