Panama: $ 112 Million in Infrastructure

The Ministry of Works has awarded four contracts for road realignment projects in the city of Panama.

Contracts were awarded to Conalvías, Transacaribe Trading, MCM Global Consorcio Intersecciones and Constructora Meco.

"Conalvías will be responsible for building a viaduct in Avenida de los Martires for $ 29.3 million ... and a viaduct and extension of Avenida de La Amistad for $ 20.5 million” reported Prensa.com.

Transcaribe Trading will be responsible for the design and construction of a network of roads integrating the neighborhoods of Tocumen.

Awards: Urban Improvement for $26 million

Constructora MECO won the contract for the design and improvement of public space, road and pedestrian infrastructure, and easements in Calle Uruguay, in the district of Panama.

Taking part in the tender were:  Ortiz Construcciones y Proyectos, S.A. with a proposal of $27.8 million and Constructora Meco, S.A.; MCM Global consortium, made up of Munilla Construction Management LLC / MCM Global, S.A., Conalvías Construcciones, and Asociación Accidental C&C Construye, all four with economic proposals of $26.4 million.

Panama: 19 Companies Interested in Road Tender

Ten construction companies and nine service companies attended the pre tender meeting for establishing the specifications for the expansion to four lanes of the Inter American Highway from Veraguas to Viguí.

Prensa.com reports: "This is the first of five sections that the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is putting out to tender in order to complete the widening to four lanes of the highway between David and Santiago".

Water Supply Works for $288 million

The Panamanian government will most likely award contracts to Odebrecht,Meco-Transcaribe Trading, and Meco-MCM to improve the water supply in Panama and San Miguelito.

If there are no complaints, the $157.8 million contract to Odebrecht will be confirmed, along with one of $33.9 million for the consortium-Meco Transcaribe Trading and a third worth $96.5 million for the M2 consortium formed by Meco and MCM.

$150 Million Highway Contract Awarded in Panama

Transcaribe Trading S.A. will be responsible for widening the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway to six lanes.

The Panamanian company presented the lowest offer in the competitive bid with two other construction companies, Meco and Urbana.

"In addition to resurfacing and widening the highway, the company will add a layer of asfalt to make the surface smoother," reports Prensa.com.
