Panama: $ 10 Million for Sewer

MOP is coordinating construction of the second phase of the sewerage for the city of Aguadulce.

The project, valued at more than $ 10 million, involves the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems and the National Council for Sustainable Development.

As reported by a press release from MOP, the Ministry will "inspect and evaluate each of the streets, so that companies comply with all requirements embodied within the contract, such as repairs after the work has been performed (equal or better condition)."

Public Construction Down 35% in Costa Rica

The decline in public works is the main factor for the decline in the construction sector.

During the first six months of 2013, there were 690,658 m² of public works under construction, while in the same period of 2012 there were 1,066,400 m².

The Ministry of Public Works plans to conduct a total of 234 projects during 2011, with an investment of $ 243.6 million.

Public Works Minister, Gerson Martinez, said that among projects are the installation of a balance in the road between Santa Ana and Metapán, the modernization of the national traffic light system and investment in road signaling.
