Panama: Tourists spent $677.2 million during the first semester

During the first half of the year, tourists spent a combined total of $677,289,000 for an increase of 19.7% compared to the same period last year.

There was a two digit increase every month. The most significant was in the month of May when tourist spending was $104,516,000 or 27.3% more than same month last year.
Jorge Loaiza, president of the Panama Hotel Association, said that projections for year are at $1.4 billion in spending.
