Panama: The $20 million Promotional Contract

Ten advertising agencies have shown interest in obtaining the contract for the international promotion of Panama as a tourist destination.

Friday, May 13, 2016

An article on Prensa.com reports that "... The contract to manage international tourism promotion in the country has generated interest from major foreign advertising agencies. To date, the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) has received 10 proposals and it is expected that this number will increase in the coming weeks. "

There is not a tender process as is customary, instead a contract will be awarded directly.

Gustavo Him, administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), states that "... there will be a pre-selection process and the six best proposals will be chosen, which will then be sent to the CNT ... At the moment, most of the advertising agencies that have shown interest are American and Him noted that this is because the call was made through the Panamanian embassy in that country. "
